Making Herbal Infusions

So I spent most of today moving my soap over to my parents where there is air condition and a dehumidifier since the soap has been having problems drying out in this humidity. Ugh! Its too early for this.

In lieu of making soap I turned my attention to my gardens and got my medicinal plants in the ground.

I went to a great herb farm with Carrie in NJ just outside of Hackettstown a week or so ago http://www.wellsweep.com/ where they have every possible herb plant that a budding herbalist could want. All their plants are organic and the place is just beautiful. They have some neat workshops too.

I made some infusions of calendula and comfrey and arnica for some healing balms that I am working on. One will be a general heal-all type balm, one a belly balm for expectant mothers and the other will be a muscle rub. Ever since I started training for the triathlon I am in need of muscle rub so I started thinking it would be a nice addition to the products at my yoga studio.

Michelle, my graphic designer extraordinaire http://www.mlcorby.etsy.com/ is almost done with the labeling for the way cool all in one shampoo bars. We are calling them Outpost soaps because you can use them camping/hiking etc for your hair and body and they won't hurt Mother Earth. We have also decided to put our most popular Goats Milk Lotion in a nifty squeeze bottle so Chell is working on a label for that too. What would she do without me keeping her up to her eyes in labels??

Time for Summer Craft Shows

So with all this summer like weather, I am gearing up for the summer craft show at Wilburs in Blairstown in July which means lots of time in the kitchen making soap...yummy garden soaps like cucumber loofah zucchini and carrot complexion soap.

Im thinking that some nice cooling body mists might be on the production line as well...

Curtains and new Jack

We put up denim curtains that look really cute...and replaced the missing jack...I will take new pictures of the curtains when I have them all done since I just bought some cute wallhangings that I want to include in the pictures.
Next trip with the kids is to Hershey for Halloween...but am gonna try and squeeze in one or two more trips before the season is through...

Maiden Voyage Complete

We went to Jellystone and everything went great!! I am still looking for a better mattress solution for the couch/bed but am gonna borrow a futon mattress today to see if that will fit. I have been keeping my eye out for an old shasta that someone wants to part out so that I can replace the missing bench seat and am thinking of taking her in next week to have the original taillights and breaking system fixed.

Would like to have her painted before winter but it may be wise to just wait til round March and have it done then...
